Huge, beautiful bouquet. I got hints of vanilla and butter in addition to deep, dark and tart cherries.
Extremely smooth, with resolved tannins on the palate. Tart, but not too tart cherry flavors. Certainly characteristics of the Sonoma Coast, but not with a ton of minerality. That smoothness sets it apart from some of the stonier Sonoma Coast wines that I'm used to (and like). Very hearty. I also picked up brighter, lighter fruits as I drank more: strawberries and raspberries.
Simply outstanding. Among the best Pinots I've ever had.

Birthday at Bourbon Steak (Washington, DC): Nose begins with super bright, sweet red cherries and sweet red raspberries. No blue or black fruits. On the palate, the same, but even sweeter -- raspberry pie, strawberries, smuckers raspberry jam, and some vanilla. Soft tannins, juicy, great mouth feel, incredibly long finish. What's most interesting as that everything tastes like sweet fruits, but this ISN'T over the top. Nothing is overripe; none of the fruits are big or dark, it's not syrupy, etc.

5/12/2013 - xcblazer10 Does not like this wine:
This wine was not good. Probably expired, possibly flawed. Same for both bottles.
