Needs an hour or two to open. Nose is big, with wet leather, berries and eucalyptus. Palate has spice, more berries, earthy dark. Good bit of acid to deal with all the fruit, and still some significant but nicely placed tannins. This is not at end-of-days as far as I can see, though, since I'm out of bottles of it, I won't be able to check it out later. Since this vintner weirdly doesn't do them as vintages, and since I believe this bottle was bottled around 2008-09, it is clear that it can handle 6-7 years without any problem. It could be many more years, since there is no sign of flab or loss of brightness.
NR. I wouldn't take my experience tonight as representative, necessarily. This wine has survived multiple moves and was bought in a pre-cellar era. Was husbanded for sentimental reasons, and it held up, if perhaps slightly baked from all its travels in the intervening years. Slightly/barely perceptibly madeirized, but still somehow pleasant to drink, and still, well, a Thackrey. This is somehow still proof-of-concept, however, that one should a) buy lots of Pleiades and b) throw some down for mid-term consumption windows -- they're absolutely worth following....
Medium garnet with slight bricking at the edge. On the bouquet is super-sweet cherries, eucalyptus, menthol, licorice, herbs, and cedar. This is delicious and drinking beautifully right now. There was a little volatile acid when I popped the cork, but it burned off quickly. The palate is full of fruit, with creamy cherries and a hint of earth. The acid is present but not obtrusive. This likely has at least five years of life left. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Eucalyptus, mint, coco powder and all the things you expect from Thackrey. I have always been a fan of his unorthodox wines, but this one is not withstanding the test of time. All that other funk seems to be taking over the essence of the grape, with little left. Drink it now.

(NV Sean Thackrey Pleiades) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-light; NOSE-tight; a little raspberry; a little tar bubble as well; some cranberry & chocolate coming through; TASTE-pleasant fruit coming through; almost like a radish dipped in raspberry jam on the back-end; blackberries and cranberries; a medium bodied play; some good tannins on the back-end; drinking extremely well for such a young wine (bottled in Jan '08); should last 3-4 years; solid; I kind of like it; but a little thin and lacking charisma & depth; GV-88
