A number of folks said to wait. Well, we waiting. And I'm here to tell you it paid off. Really nice. Bright red fruits (but no fruit bomb) especially currant, pronounced smokiness and light tannins. Positive comments all around from our dinner party with two other couples. This was from the magnum, and it was indeed completely consumed during dinner. This is listed as "drink by 2011", but this will easily go through 2014. Great QPR.

Obviously carmenere from the funky nose, but the funk is muted in flavor of dark fruit on the palate. Drinkable and cheap, but nothing special. $6.99 OH retail

Very dark purple. Nose is grape kool ade, smoke, and some jam.
Surprising. Attack is dark fruit, transitioning to a smokey tobacco, and some spice. A little disjointed. Finish trasitions back to fruit with a pretty solid structure of tannins. Pretty smoth, nice mouthfeel.
Better than the nose had me thinking, and a good wine for the price.
3/5

Much more approachable than when I first tried it back in April 2009. Lots of dark fruit with leather, tobacco, spice and slight herbaceous notes. Silky tannins make this pleasant to drink. Simple but nice wine for under $10.

Nothing special. Softened Carmenére for mass consumption, lacks character.
