This is a very good bottle of wine, with that said, I expect more from a Gaja, though I guess based on the less than average vintage 91 was, this probably is a really good result. Felt a long younger than it really is. It had an average level of complexity and managed to show its true Italian colors throughout a nicely concentrated fruity profile, combined with some minerals and pepper in the background. I was not very impressed with the noticeable oakyness in times, but did like the level of acidity. Nice tasty aftertaste. If you have any, I would hold till its 20th birthday, as tannins still need time to soften - everything is there, so it will hold nicely till then.
