Opened the 2008 only short before consuming and whata joy! Smooth but still well structured and nice body, absolutely great to drink but surely could be kept longer.

Just like the Beychevelle 2002 (see tasting note for further explanation), the 2008 showed great freshness and vibrancy. Entering its drinking window now. Mix of red and black fruit and great minerality. Enjoyed at the Chateau.

Nez intense et profond sur le sous-bois, le cèdre et les épices. Bouche équilibrée aux tanins fondus. La texture du vin est crémeuse et l'ensemble est racé. Très belle longueur. Un vin magnifique qui semble a son apogée.

Ouvert 20 minutes avant dégustation, il lui faut 20 minutes de plus dans le verre pour se livrer.
Robe grenat brillant, arômes très variés au nez, cassis, lard grillé, lapsang souchong, bouquet de fleurs.
En bouche, la corpulence est moyenne, le vin est harmonieux a défaut d’être vraiment complexe, il dégage une légère touche herbacée, pas désagréable, en fin de bouche. La finale est moyenne.
J’aime ces vins pas trop extraits, classiques, qui « laissent » bien.
Commence à se boire, avec de la réserve pour 15 ans, mais je ne le vois pas aller jusqu’en 2075 comme J. Gilman
