Forgot I still had this. Golden colour, minerally fruit nose. Classic Sancerre with a bit of age. Fruit but mineral driven. Any oak is now fully integrated. Fully mature. Nice.

Alphonse Mellot Sancerres (Sancerre, France): Interestingly, this had a similar degree of richness as the special '08 cuvees did, and I think this is imparted by the wood used here. The wood influence is discrete, yet it somewhat defuses the tremendous acidity underneath. Like all the wines in the range, this too is a splendid example, yet I like a couple of the unwooded (or less wooded) '08 cuvees even better.

Alphonse Mellot Cuvée Edmond 1983-2014 vertical (Stockholms vinkällare): Rather big and waxy on the nose and curiously perhaps the most developed of the vertical, even though it was the second youngest Edmond. Oak shining through.

Bell's French Tasting (Bell's Wine Shop, Washington DC): Soft. Soapy, glycerine note and some other light, floral notes. Very interesting and complex, but did not appeal to my palate.
