Somewhat dark and sombre on the developing nose, and quite oaky, even though the barrels were only big ones. Emerging truffle aromas are the main calling card. The taste is definitely full-bodied, with pronounced woody/earthy tannins. Problem is the perceived lack of fruit at this juncture. Hard to say what will happen here, but further patience is needed, as well as a creamy mushroom/truffle risotto when the time comes.

Opened 2h - decanted and poured. Beautiful brick red, 4,5. Initially a bit simple but after 15min it opens up showing mature notes, dried roses, tobacco, ripe red fruits, complexity. The palate is harmonious with some serious tannin, fine finish. Drink now or wait if you like really mature Barolo.

Dark brown-red hue. Earthy mineral notes, sour cherries, tarry rope, tar pastille, soy and dark chocolate. A hint of liqueur cherry and coke. Really powerful and severely tannic taste, rough around the edges, "sour" in a Tuscan way and slightly bitter on the finish. Tonight Prapó is clearly the more harmonious wine, and Prapó Riserva takes it to yet another level.

Smal og slumrende kveld én, forvandlet til dypere og mektigere kveld to. Elegant barolo med trøkk. La ligge til i fem år til.
