  • Dekantert. Litt bunnfall. Trenger minst etpar timer i karaffel for å åpne seg opp.

Medium intensitet og kompleksitet. Duftene går mot solbær, bjørnebær og blyantspiss.

Middels konsentrasjon. Smaken domineres av frukt, hovedsakelig solbær. Velbalansert. Frisk syrlighet og faste tanniner som tørker godt ut. Lang ettersmak.

Dag 2: stått i kjøleskap med vakum over natta. Nå viser den i tilleg lær og et hint av krydder på nesa.

Drukket til juleburger med fikenchutney fra matprat

  • 13.0% - No formal note. Quite surprised by how expressive this was at this stage, lots of fruit, creme de cassis and red fruits along with a mixture of cigar box, cedar, espresso, graphite with a refreshing acidity, the tannins were surprisingly soft and velvety, a good pronounced intensity on the nose and palate with a good persistence. This is promising for the years to come, but was truly impressive at this younger stage.

  • Classical Bordeaux nose. Medium bodied, soft and very balanced palate with tannins totally integrated. Probably at its peak already.

  • We decanted the wine for 45 minutes before we poured the first glass. It was medium to dark ruby in colour and offered black currant, cherry, blackberry, plum, leather, tobacco, cedar box and gamy notes on the nose. On the palate the wine showed black currant, cherry, plum and leather, paired with medium-plus prominent acidity, medium-plus fine tannin and good length. Overall the medium-bodied, medium complex, medium-concentrated wine was reasonably balanced; the acidity, however, was not integrated well and stood out. A little disappointing.

  • This was a half bottle bought recently at Carrefour's FAV for 10€. Not very aromatic, but immediately charming and fruity, surprisingly forward. Redcurrants and cranberry dominate, with a touch of plum. As the back label states rather honestly, 08 turned out much better than expected, which still of course means that it's not a top vintage. This is a medium bodied, easy going wine that will give great pleasure over the next two or three years, but no more. The front of the palate is well served by the charming fruit, but there is neither grip nor body, nor is there much of a finish. Good fun and a good QPR but not a great example of CS.

(Château Chasse-Spleen) Very dark red violet color; tart black fruit, espresso, graphite nose; tasty, tight, tart black fruit, espresso palate; medium-plus finish

(Chateau Chasse-Spleen Moulis) A nice, very classic, rather cedary nose here, with some polished but dusty (an oxymoron, I suppose) fruit on the palate. Attractive, supple, with moderate weight and good fresh acidity, this has a nice concentration of tannin and overall is nicely judged and harmonious. Very good potential.
