served blind to me and i thought it was a rioja - concentrated and non-descript. somewhat vegetal too. when it was revealed i was genuinely shocked. nothing like any other clos rougeard i've had, and not inspiring. lacking the incredible clarity of fruit, the focus.

This is a mature wine, now at its best or slighlty past it. In any case I wouldn't wait more for it to evolve. The nose is very fragnant and fine, bringing to mind a good wine from Margaux. The fuit has gone but fine leather, manure, undergrouth, ahve taken its place. What a fine nose!! It is light to medium bodied, and not completely clear - it is a little bit hazy but the wine had no defect. In the mouth it somewhat leaner than what you would expect from a Bordeaux, but after all it is not. Yet the comparison is inescapable. A fine mature wine to pare with a delicate dish.

A pretty poor wine. The bret was unbearable, and for the first 3 hours it was undrinkable. We had a long night, and left it in the decanter, and 3 more hours later, agter a few bottles, and with Eric Clapton at loud volume by the fireplace, it was drinkable. Overall, not very pleasing.

Slightly musty and woolly. Poured blind, I thought it was Bordeaux. But there's something about it that just seems grey and overcast, not a fun wine.
