1970 - 1978 Ridge Zinfandels (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Quite dark at the core but some bricking at the end and a clear meniscus. Sweet baked cherry nose, spicy and youthful. Similar palate, youthful, sweet cherry, some tingly acid on the finish. Really nice. (my 5th, group's 4th)

red, orange, in the color. earth, dried fruit, hint of brett, on the nose. blackberry, earth, steak sauce, on the palate. high acid, on the finish.
Blind Tasting 1978 - 1990 Ridge Zinfandels (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Corked. Others must have disagreed since this came in 6th in front of the non-corked-but-not-very-good '83 Park-Muscatine, but no one at my table. (my 7th, group's 6th)
