  • Powerful aromas of ripe but not sweet black fruit, mint, tilled earth, and a hint of oak. Rich but graceful, with a nice juiciness underlying the material and an unforced, effortless power that to me is a mark of the vintage. Finishes with an an earthy bite offsetting the resonating fruit. Delicious and an excellent QPR for a recent purchase of $50.

  • Youthful garnet red. Intense nose of high-toned, ripe red fruit and damsel, some sous-bois, a touch of VA. In the mouth, this is notably fresh with fine, but still slightly firm tannins. Good mid-palate density. The length is a bit disappointing. Quite short. Overall this is nice, representative of the vintage in that it feels much younger than 15 years, but to me a bit forward; not the most profound showing of this wine and producer.

  • Gorgeous stuff. Very elegant. Opens with a nice little barnyard/earthy thing, then transitions into a slightly spicy, acidic wonder. Excellent medium-red fruit. No reason to think that this won't be compelling for the next 10+ years.

  • Continues to improve. Paired with smoked chicken. Improved with 30 minutes+ of airtime - open in advance if drinking now. Bright cherry, earthy, dried cranberry, orange rinds on nose. On palate, medium body, high acidity, cherry, bing cherry, cranberry with a very long finish. Paired great with chicken. A special wine. 93+ Should have bought a case vs. 1/2 a case!

  • Opened and let sit for about one hour. Beautiful nose. Fruit was very forward and the flavor we outstanding. I wish out had more.
