I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but, if you have these in your cellar, and if this bottle is typical, this wine is no longer worth drinking. This isn't a huge surprise, since this was a wine crafted specifically for short-term drinking. And it's not actually offensive, but that's pretty much the best that can be said for it--there really isn't anything there any more. Mildly oxidized, sort of like bruised apples. This might be usable in cooking, but only if there are lots of very intense flavors in the dish. And you might want to open them before throwing them out, just in case some bottles are in better shape. Alas!

Delicate nose of white and yellow florals, smokey minerals and melons. Palate was a bit bizarre with intense minerality and an almost riesling-like fruit profile. Strange, but intriguing stuff.

Clean, crisp aromas of lemon and apples. Palate shows tart apples, with vanilla on the finish. What chardonnay should be, elegant, balanced, pure. This is holding up quite nicely and showing no signs of slowing down. There are a few chardonnays I like better, but none of them are anywhere near this price.

(BLANC Terres Dorees Beaujolais) Weekend Blanc Dear Friends, This is a bit unusual for a weekend offer but I had this wine for a third time last night and it makes a lasting impression normally reserved for something far more costly. An example that speaks for itself - it's a crystalline and complex wine that I could drink every night and have no shame in serving to my most curmudgeonly know-it-all collector friends. When I invite them to dinner, I'm humbled to receive their good tidings in the form of 1979 Montrachet (or the "ooh and ahh" equivalent) but I'm just as excited to reciprocate with something like this. In the vinous hierarchy, certain examples are not about their monetary value or rarity, rather they are about the intrinsic value and intellectual stimulation they provide regardless of price - this wine speaks to that mantra in spades. I think it's safe to say, this is one of the world's top wines for what it is: VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEDNED - ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price 2008 Domaine des Terres Dorees (Jean-Paul Brun) Beaujolais Blanc (Chardonnay) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg3121
(Terres Dorees Beaujolais Blanc) #3; COLOR-golden; NOSE-heavy peach; creamy butter action; some wood action; very white flower; PALATE-no oak and very sea shell-like; lighter than the nose indicated; a little thin for me (reminds me more of Sauvignon Blanc); easy drinking, but a little hollow on the mid-palate; a little citrus lemon peel action; solid, but lacks some complexity; not bad for the price; DS-91; GV-86+

Simple but delicious. Smooth, with prominent but integrated oak notes. A touch of residual sugar. 85-87pts

Interesting wine - it is both taut and rich with an unctuous almost oily texture, apple and pineapple, nice crisp acidity and a very minerally finish.
