This in great shape at 18. Colour still quite solid ruby only hinting garnet. Med+ acidity and dry dusty tannins. The fruit is ripe, almost Shiraz-like blackberry, no green capsicum or pyrezine, a little stalky eucalyptus keeping things fresh. There's a shiff of smoke and a black minerally character, like slate. Colour and structure suggests this could go years more but it's probably on a plateau and not improving unless you like waiting for lots of tertiary.

Under cork with barely a millimetre of creep around the base of the cork. Deep dark red through to the edges. No sign of bricking or browning. Loads of fruit, cassis, red and black berries, hints of mint and eucalypt, pencil shavings/cigar box. Still in a secondary stage of development, no leather or shoe shine or wood polish. Excellent body and length. Likely to cellar for another 5-10 years. 93+ 8)

still a baby. Dark red through to the edges, allowed to breath for an hour and a half, delicious fruit with background wood and a splash of mint. Lovely body, smooth and lingering length. Will go another decade easily. 94

Deep, dark purple defying its age. Dark brooding notes such as black plum and cherry permeate the air. Further there is also lavender and dried cranberry, backed up by charry oak. Cassis and tobacco join in on the palate. Moderate, powdery tannins and a lingering velvety finish round it out. It remains fresh and lively with pristine fruit and balanced acidity. Probably close to its peak, but will hold for some time yet. A very good quality Cabernet.
