Opens with lemon pith and lemon sherbet but also a touche of quince and orange zest with a touch of just ripe white nectarine, nice stony minerality and overall enough sugar to balance acid. Just a touch or petrol like notes. Perhaps could have gone for a few more years although lacking a bit in fruit concentration. Med complexity and med+ finish. Good wine but price to quality ratio perhaps there are better producer in the Mosel.

Thanksgiving Day with the Family: In my cellar for about 8 years, first bottle from this batch. Looked for something light to pair with some small bites pre-dinner. Chilled, PnP.
Medium gold color. Nose showing citrus, stones, , nuts, faint petrol. Sweet palate of baked apple, quince, candied pineapple(?). Hint of botrytis, mineral through the mid palate. Medium weight and finish.
Really crisp, pure and precise wine...great expression of Kabinett in a good place now. Saved some for apple pie later....great pairing. Still good on day 2...

SLDS - PR GC: Sherbet, lemon, pear, lime and white florals. Very pure and full on the palate with a slate undertone. Delicious, mineral and pure. Think I have one more of these, another 5-10 years would be lovely.

This 2008 Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Kabinett is refined and flows down easily. Tasted blind – A fresh bouquet of zingy fresh citrus fruits, Riesling style of stoney and steely nose with airy mouthfeel. Slightly sweet with good acidity and reserved stone fruits. 2012? German Riesling? (88/100)

Like the purity and electric acidity. Linear on the palate. Refreshing.
