Perhaps a little more Central Otago than Marlborough as the profile of the dark cherry is quite pronouced. Fruit is very clean and sharp and acid levels are quite high. Very clean and linear. Modest wine in some respects but expressive and a good intro into the regional style. Drink 2011 - 2012.

spiced plums and cooked cherry on the nose, very complex with some coconut and hints of thyme. A nice plum and blueberry palate with good acidity giving nice length.

Perth and Margaret River Dec 2009; 11/12/2009-2/1/2010: Thoroughly enjoyed on Emirates business class DXB-PER. Enchanting elevated kirsch nose, and pleasant fruit-driven palate. Hope it tastes as good at sea level as it did up there - I snapped up a couple of cases before checking!

Opened closed but quickly opened up - overripe raspberry, cherry, dirty undergrowth and clay, faint spiciness and dusting of cocoa. Medium bodied palate that was very assertive, certainly long and a touch chewy. No subtlety here and a metallic finish.

pinot with aussie muscle. vanilla and dark berries on the nose at first. the longer it was in the glass the better it got, developing the delicateness so typical of pinot noir, with firm acidity, pleasant tannins, and a very balanced taste between fruit and smoke and earthy qualities.
