Last purchased and tasted in January 2016, this release/disgorgement has only become more appealing with time. Beautiful deep lemon color with lively bubbles, this was full bodied with well-delineated meyer lemon, brioche flavors, exuberant even, with a lovely texture and caressing mouthfeel, and lengthy finish leaving behind subtle citrus and chamomile. Still holding well on Day 2 under stopper.

2007 base, 2012 disgorgement. My first experience having an aged entry level champagne from a grand marque - so enjoyable that made me question the marginal utility of tete de cuvees. Still fresh and vibrant with the toasty brioche signature of grand marques, slightly on the sweet side but it was such a hedonistic drink that I did not feel it was too over the top. Believe this was from an era that Charles Heidsieck used a large proportion of reserve wines in their NVs, which added depth and a richness to the wine. An unashamedly bold and brash champagne, sadly the Mise en Cave range was discontinued because consumers didn't understand how it worked.

On the nose, inviting champagne with nutty, yeasty, brioche, biscuit bouquet. On the palate light and refreshing with some green apple. A luxury texture with fine bubbles. Lovely aromatic persistence. Good vintage champagne that is reasonable priced.

It's personal... But this is the best 'basic' champagne I know. It has brioche, freshness, apple, bitters and acidity. My favorite!
