  • Surprisingly still fresh. High level of tannins, and although they're pretty smooth and integrated, it's just too much oak overall. Fruit is there, but overpowered. Some spice on the finish.

  • 14.2% abv. On the Pnp, the nose was pretty off-putting, with an aroma that reminded me of puke. Fortunately, this mostly blew off after an hour or so but there really was not much left in the way of aromatics. On the palate, there were some things to like about this, with a focused, silky mouthfeel, pretty good depth and weight, and good balance. The flavor profile, however, was very bland and lacked any fruit characteristics. I wouldn't describe it as earthy either -- it was just kind of flat and unattractive. Overall, not bad enough to dump, but not good enough to really enjoy at all. Tasted over 3 days - consistent throughout.
Addendum: One other thing. The bottle is friggin' huge - barely was able to squeeze this into a styro shipper. Note to producers: stop giving us these stupid-gigantic bottles - they don't fit in wine fridges! The cost more for all of us and are enough for me to skip a producer altogether.

  • Medium bodied, balanced. Decent length of finish. Nice red fruit element, drying, tea. Not a powerful pinot version but still offers firmness in the structure. Good acidity to keep it fresh tasting.

  • The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like game, mineral, and strawberry jam. It tastes like strawberry jam, dust, burnt, burnt, coffee and coffee. The body is medium. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium +. The wine has high acidity.

  • Such a beautiful Pinot. Gentle yet firm. Lovely dark fruit glides over the tongue, making the mid palate giddy. Medium finish. Not a powerful pinot, but no weakling either. Well balanced. Drink now.
