Dark ruby with brownish edge, high intensity. Mature, medium intensity nose of leather and dark dried fruit. (Day 2, raisins and dark chocolate.) On the palate, some sweetness, high acidity, medium(+) tannins (small, rounded), fullbodied. Dark chocolate, coffee, dried plums, raisins, leather. Very good length with a bit of licorice. 14,5%, well inbedded. Concentration and structure. A solid wine. Feels thick but rather fresh in mouth, more fruit than the nose initially indicated. When it gets warmer in the glass, the sweet dried fruit becomes more pronounced.
From 75% Refosco and 25% Carmenère. The back label says: "Grandarella a dry, round and structured wine. A supervenetian from semi-dried indigenous grapes..." Rosso delle Venezie, Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT).

Leathery dark fruit and cherry pips in the nose. Mature taste with sweet dark fruit, bitter notes and acidity a little too high. Over the hill, but still very enjoyable.

Not really for my palate. Too peppery and rustic taste. The color is great and the nose shows sweet and hot fruit, almost glycerol like. There's also hints of liqourice. Peppery and not the same fruit as the standard corvinia and rondinella blends. Still a big wine. 85-86 p.

Dark and deep. Nice earthy Veneto with pruny vanilla flavours.

Lighter red from Veneto but still quite full bodied and fruity for a 2005.
