Emmerich Knoll - Three decades of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner (Restaurant Zum alten Markt, Munich): Glass: Gabriel Standard Tasting note is based on usually two different bottles. All bottles were coming straight out of the winery cellar in pristine condition. Warm vintage. Bottle one a bit broader and lacks tension, bottle two a bit more fresh and energetic. Clear, amber golden color. Clean nose, quite closed and muted. Lacks acidity, you can feel the warm vintage. A bit hot, but also deep and dense. Classic Veltliner notes, some white pepper. Good length. 89-90

Wow... what a marvelous, impressive, intense and complex wine this is! Yeast, dry honey, orange rind, white pepper. Huge floral and tropical aromatics, as well: hyacinth, honeysuckle, vanilla, saffron and guava. Fantastic.

(Weingut Knoll Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Loibenburg) Light straw color with gray-green tint. Citrus fruits, green apple, melon, and stony minerality on the nose, followed by a big mouthfeel and juicy acidity. Taut, angular structure. Winery Spotlight: Domaine Marcel Deiss

Consumed my last bottle: notes of apricot, lemon, honeysuckle with good acidity, nicely balanced. Paired with rotisserie chicken.

Served warm but id say going strong. Powerful. Lots of cream characteristics to it. Oddly vanilla.

This wine continues to drink very well. Fruit is concentrated with notes of apricot, lemon curd, honeysuckle with good acidity, all nicely balanced.
