Still showing great characteristics of a mature Cab. Subtle tones with a surprisingly bright nose for the age. Still think she has a few years left to be enjoyed!

4th Saturday group "uptown" tasting (Our house): Aromas of cassis, chocolate and black fruit. Full-bodied, with medium, slightly chalky tannins, and flavors of chocolate, cassis and plum. Has a plush mouthfeel. Finishes with plenty of fruit and good length. Guessed Napa Cabernet.

Unfortunately, I did not keep detailed tasting notes, but this has a quintessential Napa Cab flavor profile, without being overly oaky or overdone. It is very well structured and balanced. It paired wonderfully with a filet with roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions and a green peppercorn glaze. Yum. Drinking well now and should continue to do so for several more years.

#1 of the night against Mondavi 2001 reserve. Deep, concentrated flavors with long finish. Dark fruits, forest floor, leather flavors.

Bon & Nate: Wonderful, deep, dark, full body, integrated tannins, luscious. Cassis, earthy; not standard cabernet.
