Retail $180? Darker in both color and aromas than both the 1984 and 1984, which is not surprising, at least from a color standpoint, given the age discrepancy. This vintage is also more peppery, with a decided herbal aspect, which is lovely. Abundant fruit on the palate, which is surprising seeing that the wine is thirty years old, great balance, silky tannins. Lovely.
P: LM body; NICE frt braced by some acidic astringency which slowly, seamlessly transitions into quite a LONG, BALANCED finish with an elegance & just enough firmness to encourage either another sip or bite of food. for which it would be SUPERB. 12.5% ABV; My EXC+, poss EXCEPTIONAL-, & I suspect still with several yrs of life left, although it did noticeably drop off after ≈4 hrs in a large glass.

Held up surprisingly well; but definitely on the back-end of the curve so drink-em up. Opened up even further after 30 mins (we didn’t decant). Had the 90 next to it; it was a little more complex than the 92
