From Coravin. Slightly metallic, a melange of fresh stone fruit compote, honey, sweet spice, slightly oxidised here as well: touches of bruised apple. Juicy, fresh stone fruit with ripe apple in support, medium plus length, a little gum grip, touch of cream on the finish. Lovely.

From Coravin. Showed serious signs of weeping cork in the past. Cleaned it up with the standard butterflied trepidation before applying the Coravin. On the nose, especially compare to the Piesporter Grafenburg by the same producer and of the same vintage, it's a bit flat...some muted/dull cream and honey, almond backed by a little peach and apricot. In the mouth things are a lot better. Medium plus intensity acidity is quite lemon citrus, similar fruit sweet flavours, perhaps a slight herbaceous and almond underpin with some mid palate texture. Good.

Tasted blind. I thought it was an Auslese - quite concentrated and sweet, with notes of ripe pineapple and flint. A ‘big’ Riesling of a very different style to most Mosels.

Loved this. For me, near perfect integration of fruit, oak, sweetness, and acidity. The only white wine that continues to haunt me to this day. Wish I had bought more...
Riesling and Kraftwerk (My place, parramatta, sydney): Medium minus aromas of wet stone, ripe apple and slight tropical fruit. In the mouth the wine is off dry, broad on the palate with ripe apple, peach and tropical fruit flavours. Very pleasant indeed.

(Reinhold Haart Piesporter Domherr Spatlese) Really great wine. Profound nose. Opulent. Truly thrilling finish. So pure. So many stone fruits. Very juicy and buffered by excellent acidity.
