Exactly what I love about Ross's style, nothing over the top, just everything in balance. Translucent color; pretty floral, cool red and blue fruited nose; soft pillowy texture, raspberry and strawberry palate complicated by hints of animal blood; the acid and tannin seem to fade in the background to a plush, seamless finish. No trace of oak or alcohol which has to be 13% or under. This is everything California is not, well done!

Too stemmy/green and sharp for its pedigree and price. Not the best showing, but it did have some good ingredients - subtle, well-integrated oak, nice raspberry fruit, good acid. There are at least 100 domestic pinot noirs that cost 30% less and deliver a lot more deliciousness factor unfortunately.

Wines by the glass @ Rockpool B&G: Blood, musk and stems in the background. Full and quite long, actually the persistence is quite impressive. This is unmistakably US Pinot Noir, but it holds itself back just a touch on the richness which I do appreciate.

Not nearly as good as the prior bottle as the complexity wasn't there. Not sure if this is in an age funk or what. Good thing I have a couple more and I'll keep drinking one per year to see how/if they evolve as expected (they really should!).

Consistent experience with the prior bottle and unfortunately not the first bottle.
