At a very good place right now, will go a long time more. Not sure if Napa cab gets any better, but that’s a nod to my liking old world cabs a lot as well. If you like jam and in your face this is not for you, if you love a wine that evolves and gives pause to sip slowly, this vineyard always comes across.

First bottle I've opened from this vintage, and think it will benefit from at least another 3 years in the cellar. Deep color. Black cherries, blackberries, leather, tobacco, dark chocolate and hints of leather and floral in the nose. Rich fruit, blackberries, black raspberries, black cherries, plums and hints of espresso in the flavor. Nice acidity, well balanced, nice complexity, and a medium to long finish. This wine would have warranted a higher score if not for the off putting vegetal notes in the mid palate which I have not experienced in other vintages of Togni. I will be curious if it is still there in three years when I open my next bottle.

(Philip Togni Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-this smells great; Togne has always been one of my favorite Napa wines; just gorgeous; like cream covered strawberries; PALATE-this may be the best Togni I've had since 1991; this has some vegetables; celery stick; cucumber and brussel sprouts mixed in with strawberries; raspberries and cherries; has a great creamy thing; this is perfectly oaked; this is SPECTACULAR; one of the best '07 California Cabs I've had; a beautiful and epic effort; this brings power with chocolate covered blueberries that I love so much on the finish; spruce and cedar going on; just elegance (tastes like top notch Bordeaux); a kick of vegetal, but then goes into great fruit; this is the Cabernet I grew up on (like '91; '87 & '93 vintages); BALANCE; RP-95; ST-94; GV-95

Drink along side the 2007 Dunn Howell Mtn. They are remarkably similar and the Togni maybe slightly less evolved. Still both very enjoyable
