  • Nice, Lately I have been cosumming various vineyard designate wines 2007-2008 KB, 2007 MacPhail, 2008 Freeman n 2008 August West….I find this 2007 WH Cahill at the top end of the pack. Some primary flavors, loaded with secondary flavors and some tertiary flavors….current profile could be considered Burgundian at this time….

  • A true beauty at the age of 14, did not expect that but just serves as a Quality Stamp for WH. Lovely (and lots of) darkish fruit, Burgundy style, mushy, a fair amount of spices, still some good acidity, and that excellent finish remains. Terrific.

  • Pop and pour. Still tons of fruit but backbone is starting to fade a bit. Remarkable how well this wine has held up. Wonderful nose!

  • Lots of ripe red cherry and berry aromas and flavors with impressive freshness and weight, but a slightly sweet edge that won’t quite go away.

  • Subsequent notes on this wine. Medium reddish garnet in color with clearing at the edges. Full, forward & attractive nose of complex, ripe fruit aromas of red cherries, strawberries & currants with mineral driven overtones & earthy/dusty, mushrooms, spices notes of cinnamon & cloves, some floral notes, herbs & a touch of vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, complex, ripe fruit flavors of sweet cherries, strawberries & raspberries with spices of cloves, some cherry-cola, minerals, herbs, earthy & a hint of vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & at 10 years of age, is at its peak of development.
