  • We drank our last two 07’s in the last two weeks, both with similar notes. Corks were intact thanks to proper cellaring but the labels were peeling off. The wine is aging. Legs are apparent with slight browning in the meniscus in the glass. Aromas of tobacco, waning red fruit and earth. Mild tannins are evident. The tobacco nose and flavors are ever present. Some red fruit on the finish but is trumped with the tobacco. Glad we are drinking this up, as we recommend you do, and on to the 08’s!

  • This is holding up much better than I previously experienced. Very mature with well aged tannins and light cherry fruit. Some secondary flavors. Medium long finish. This could continue to age for another 5 years but I think it will be best enjoyed by 2025.

  • corkage at Kyle G's new seafood restaurant in Stuart/Port St Lucie, Florida; cork broke off half way out and showed wine seepage of at least 1 cm; nevertheless, the wine was seemingly unaffected by the failing cork; the effect of 16 years of cellaring was exactly what one might expect of a very good pinot noir to start with, aged close to its limits; tannins were like a shaft of bright steel in the center sporting a periphery of classic pinot taste with flashing taste bud shooting stars going off all the while; decanting and further exposure to oxygen only served to emphasize the dryness of this wine; the dryness carried over to the medium finish, suggesting that it would show versatility in pairing; in actuality, the four of us at the table had trout, grouper, and lamb chops, and the pairing was enjoyable in each case
