Drank this during a wine dinner at Phoenix Garden (Ngee Ann City). Theme of the Evening: Langton's Exceptional Cabernet Dinner. Wines were served two at a time for comparison and contrast.
This is a textbook Margaret River wine. The balance between power and elegance is presented beautifully in this wine, coupled with some levels of finesse, elegance and charm. Some chocolate, toffee, graphite adds to the complexity of the wine. When compared to the 2006 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Cabernet Sauvignon John Riddoch, this wine presented beautiful purity of fruits and a fine structure which was greatly appreciated and admired.

A beautiful Cabernet. Drinking really well now. Cherries on the nose with a complex but sophisticated bouquet with initially slight perfumed aromas on the nose maybe violets. The palate was rounded and balanced with secondary characteristics. The wood and tannins were totally integrated. Still has lovely fruit on the palate with an evidence of cherry flavours. A knockout of a wine. It’s my last 2006. Very sad

‘06 was a poor year in Margaret River wet and cold made Ripening difficult. This is the least inspiring Moss Wood I have tasted. None of the usual rich mouthfeel and complexity.

During a tasting event. Medium ruby with purple core. Nose of dark fruit with some oak and earthy notes Medium bodied palate with present tannins that could be a bit rounder. Medium length.

had a bottle a week ago which was thin and disappointing. revisited to see whether there were better second impressions. This time I found find the fruit and fine tannins. perseverance was worth it
