Had this wine last night and it was spectacular, the best this wine has tasted. Now fully mature. The wine started out a bit muted with nice red flavors but without that much depth or finish. But, after about 5 or 10 minutes in the glass it really started to open up. By the time I finished drinking the wine, it was explosive (although still medium weight) with a similar flavor profile but more of everything including a very, very long finish.

PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs -nearly semi-translucent med red-violet with mild bricking -gorgeous perfumed mild funk stewed tomato cherry faint sousbois -med acidity, med weight full silky mouth presence plum earth dark cherry some minerality, keeps expanding and changing over 3 hours of air, med/med- tannins on hauntingly long finish -pure magic, classic Truchot CdlR drinking absolutely flawlessly now, this has been an outstanding wine since its release - easily in my top 5 ever, for anybody fortunate enough to still have some bottles tucked away this should easily drink marvelously for another 5-10+ years

Intoxicating nose. Just class CLDR here. Red fruits, minerals, depth and concentration, good spice notes. Whole cluster. Great structure for this wine, well integrated at this point and drinking really well. A very long life ahead for this wine.

Not a huge nose - some perfume and white flowers but it smells big and brooding. Palate is still a touch tart but delivers immense blackberry and blueberry fruit juices. The wine is very big but is still approachable and was still a pleasure to drink. The '01 Jacky Truchot Charmes-Chambertin was far more elegant.

Burgundy dinner – 90 Krug, Raveneau, Leroy, M. Gibourg, Truchot, H Lignier and etc. (The Grill Room at Capella Hotel Georgetown): Bright red fruits, red cherries, raspberry jam, mushroom, light caramel and earth. Medium concentration, round and soft, good acidity and clean medium finish. Not showing much sous bois at the point. Really delicious, very clean but not terribly complex.
