4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Our house): What a stark contrast to wine B...aromas of cherries, ripe boysenberry and raspberry. Ripe black fruit on the palate without the pruny raisiny qualities of the preceding wine. This remains ripe and fruit-driven, yet balanced and pleasurable. Lengthy finish with dark fruit and pepper. Another that was easy to identify as Zin.
Still young and fresh and one of the good examples of zin with a bit of age on it. A big wine, even with 8 years on it, the fruit is nice boysenberry with chocolate, pepper and a nicely acidic, tannic zing on the finish. A slightly acoholic nose of cherry and zinberry. Is it monolithic? A bit. Is it big? Yes. Is it worthwhile and fun to drink? You bet. Get some if you can.
