Nice. A leaner tighter version than many of Ridge's more voluptuous zins, this sleek, smooth offering has typical Zin brambly fruits but no sign of its 15.1% alcohol whatsoever. Much more restrained than I was expecting. Paired well with the BBQ pork loin. Another Ridge winner.
I think my storage conditions (53-55 deep sub grade cellar, no light, almost no temp variation) must be much better than many reviewers who have already noted deterioration. This wine had a PERFECT cork, and was fresh and lively. Not as intense perhaps as other Ridge zins, I attribute this as much to the mix of newer fruit in this bottling than to anything else.
July 4 consumption - good with burgers, but did not stand up against the Caboose, which we drank before. Classic zin, and I agree with the previous comment - it has aged well and might continue to, but it has not gotten any better.
