This was absolutely resonating. Beautiful aromas of ripe, evolved blackberry and currant, with mint and tar in the background, basically a fruit-forward bouquet. Medium-full body on the palate, again fruit forward on the rounded mid-palate, then a long, softly tannic finish with licorice, herbs and black fruit. Great integration, and tannins have become stunning with age. I don't think this will develop much further, but the balance is excellent and if well stored I'd expect another 5 years or so at least in this.

Favorite of vertical at Longoria. Red fruits are very prominent, though have a slightly jammy edge at this point. Tobacco in the background. There's excellent lift with mature tannins on the finish. A coffee flavor lingers as well. Superb!

This wine is always a pleasant surprise, but coming to the end of its peak maturity. Drink now.

Split decision - I thought it was a great value and would buy again. My wife thought it was too oaky/extracted.
