September Bordeaux / October Denmark 2020 First bottle in September, it' needed 2 hours to open up, blind I would have been Rhône and Cotes de Beaune, but the terroir came through after the 2 hours and really hold up agains Chave 1985 and Rousseau CSJ 07 which shows the greatness of this terroir in vintage like 1973 !! Cuban tobacco, dark chocolate, Maurius brown sugar .. . of course it's not a block buster in power, but it do not need too .. . like an DB5 .. . it does not need to show either ;) Second bottle was more powerfull, and had a little issue with the cork but came of very much like the first one ! Hard though it is to believe for a wine from this vintage, this really does need either a lot more time in the bottle or a long decant. Serverd next to the 78 Petrus, this is the more concentrated wine and has the darker colour. Black tea and some dark fruits on the nose and initially the wine is just a little bit hard. Like the Petrus though, it starts to unfurl with air, but it needed longer than the 2 hours we gave it. Touch of strawberry appears and while the finish is not short, it does not have the length of the Petrus. 1 left, which I'll drink next year at either Trudi's or Jelle's 40th, and I'll probably open the day before and then stick the cork back in. Both these bottles go to show that ratings by critics have to be taken with a big pinch of salt

Gary's MNSC (Seventh Son): Decanted for 30mins. gorgeous aromas that's unmistakable Lafleur. still very robust. an absolute revelation!
