  • WSET 4 flight

Tasted Blind with the 2017 on the same flight :) tricky lecturer

Lots of tertiary aromas, wet leaves, forrest floor, wet oak, mushroomy, nice indeed with still bit of fruit, really interesting nose and deep

palate is balanced between those same tertiary and evolution aromas, lots of complexity and good balance within acidity and the left tannins, not super duper complex and long, but hey what's not to like here ...

    Very Good Wine indeed

  • During a merchant dinner. Medium garnet with brick hue. Muted nose. On the palate there are little aroma as well, mainly earth and oak, not much fruit left. I think they left this in oak too long for what they have picked, now the fruit is gone and only an oaky, tasty taste remains.

  • Fragrant, floral nose: fresh raspberry, then sweetpeas and violets, finally some herbs. In the mouth, it starts off quite lightly, with a first wave of muted raspberry, but the second wave of blackcurrant and herbs, followed by cream at the top of the palate, is much more persistent, before the return of the raspberry for a good finish.
The quintessentially elegant Margaux, absolutely splendid.

  • Great blackberry and herb nose, but more than anything was delighted by the silkiness and soft tannins
    First 90's grand cru Bordeaux

  • Floral, pretty nose, some blackcurrant but also violets. Initial impact is of lightness immediately followed by a fuller mid-palate and reasonable finish. Still some fine-grained tannin obvious in the middle and the finish that made it ideal with rare lamb and a red cabbage & port jus. Fine to drink on its own but would benefit from another couple of years. A fragrant, delightdul wine very much in fitting with its commune's reputation. Top ***
