Crazy wine made of Fié Gris -- an almost unheard of (to me, apparently to Oz Clarke: the variety is not in his Encyclopedia of Grapes) white variety. Extremely vegetal nose, like smelling a fresh-cut Jalapeno pepper, and a taste that is akin to the Mexican vinegar-brined Jalapeno/garlic/carrot mix one gets at a proper taqueria. Saline and bone dry and very refreshing, but the flavor profile commands that some kind of lean, spicy food be served. Hugely weird but interesting, glad I tried it.

Very very herbal (grassy), hints of gooseberry and minerality. No formal note.
