Gorgeously complex aroma of herb, cedar, mineral, tobacco leaf and dark cherry. Palate has medium body with smooth, resolved tannin and bright acidity. Drinking gracefully. Bordeaux-like nuance and elegance. Bravo!
Been a long time since I have seen a bottle of Laurel Glen around. I recall the Counterpoint bottles, with the distinctive label. The old days of CA cab. This wine drank very well, with plenty of fruit still, even a black cherry hard candy like texture and flavor. Does show some cigar box character to give it some extra dimension. Overall, I didn't get any sense that this wine was fading after 20 years.
Dark red color with glints of ruby. Great complex nose Lovely on the palate with cabernet fruit (cassis, dark cherry, cedar etc), some acidic fruit and a lovely finish. Also there is a tannic presence which some may dislike but for me is a welcome feature. Easily rated Excellent, perhap Excellent to Outstanding.
