I guess I'm the only one out there drinking old CA Syrah... Anyway, this was a very nice bottle which could probably go on for another five years or so. Initial slightly corky nose which blows off to reveal blackberry and pepper. Slight hint of Cassis as well... Still firmly tannic in the mouth with good acidity and a surprisingly youthful character. Kind of reminded me of an middle age Ridge Cabernet at this point. Always like the Andrew Murray wines.

1994-2004 Andrew Murray Syrahs (Bi-weekly Blind group tasting): Groups #8, my #8 Dark color. Great nose of floral, pepper, cumin and meaty aromas. Flavors of oak and wet newspaper, zero fruit left on this. If not for the interesting nose, it would have been an 80pt.
