I enjoyed this wine tonight with great pleasure. Oxidative but not oxidized, like a wonderfully aged sherry, rich, dry, nutty with a lemony note. But I have to admit that wines like this are a challenge. Harmonizes perfectly with skrei with a sauce based on Noilly Prat, lemon zest and butter.

At first I had decent aromas of peach and pears, quite nicely accompanied by a light oxidised taste. By the time we actually blind tasted the bottle, the wine completely oxidised. Strangely it was quite good just not what you expect. Maybe I'll get luckier with my next bottles.

From magnum. This is over the hill but has some curio value and I did drink a few glasses since it went well with the salmon teriyaki. Definitely oxidized and honeyed but by no means a sweet style, just over-ripe (13.9%) and rich, yet dry and not too unlike a Jura oxidative chardonnay with a nutty character and some citrus peel bitterness. If I had any I would sell to anyone gullible enough to buy them or someone going to a salmon teriyaki dinner....

Rich and golden like apple pie and custard. So honeyed that this is almost like a pudding wine. These are well known for their longevity but I'm inclined to think that this will not improve much.
