Opened up nicely. Black fruit and licorice with a note of cinnamon on the finish. Well balanced and still drinking beautifully a couple of hours after opening.

This bottle doesn’t resemble other CT notes. Pristine bottle from my cellar. Immediate and powerful nose of ash and cedar followed by a long and broad tannic finish. Classic Latour. So so good and tragically under-rated. If you find a good bottle buy on sight. One case left and it will be cherished…

Upper shoulder fill with a saturated cork. Opened at 11am and slow-oxed until ~7pm. My first Latour. Pours a youthful dark ruby with only the slightest bricking. Initially, dominated by savory leather and tobacco notes, but with a few hours of additional air, it rounded out nicely, with cassis, lead pencil and dark berry notes. Dense and structured even in this mediocre vintage, with plenty of tannins on the back end. This was served alongside a '75 Cheval Blanc, which was the stylistic opposite (elegance rather than power), and it was interesting to see how the Latour improved with air while the Cheval Blanc was drinking well out of the gates and showed little evolution.

Such a nice showing from a classic wine. Brick around the edges but still some deep red tones in the glass. Nose was cigar and cedar. Palate was forest floor, wet earth, still good acid, but finished quickly. Drink ‘‘em if you got ‘em

Wet earth, sandal wood, forest floor. Classic old school Bordeaux. Elegant and completely balanced! Lasts forever on the palate. Very nice wine.
