Meaty and a bit spicy. Showed a bit of '93 harshness on opening, but really fleshed out after being open for two hours. Good stuff in a good place now.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago IL): Dense black fruit aromas with modest spice and earth hints. Dense and firm on palate, still almost backward. Very nice, just not particularly forthcoming. This remains at the point where some many 1993 stood for a decade, but this has not yet emerged like many others from that vintage into something more nuanced.

HDH Burgundy Auction (Chicago, IL): Iron, rust, earth, real Burgundy. Subtle hint of cherry liqueur underneath it all. The palate is bursting with sour red fruits and doesn't show large amounts of the soil elements that I picked up on the nose. Very bizarre but incredibly well-crafted. Everything in balance, this is an incredible villages-level wine.

HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago, IL): Beautiful nose of sous bois, pure red cherry, and some warm spices. The palate seemed a bit acidic, lots of sour cherry. Came across a bit harsh to me.

very solid wine, showed red and dark crunchy fruit, acids were very evident and the wine was much better with food. Had a soft creamy texture with good complexity of fruit with a hint of mushroom. Tannins resolved, but no bricking of color. Long lifetime left, but resolved now and a pleasure to drink. What a wine at this level!
