Tasted blind. Dusty Cab aromas, wet earth, cassis, cedar. Full bodied on the palate, a good mix of black fruit, tobacco, earth. Still quite tannic but it's integrated and balanced. Enough gas in the tank to go further still. Guessed Bolgheri, which wasn't too far off the mark. Very attractive Bdx lookalike from warmer climate.
Dark ruby and youthful looking still. Nose is extremely fragrant with fresh roses, ripe damson. The palate is rich and concentrated with dark damson and blackcurrant fruit, coating the mouth but there's a nice green tinge to the finish which adds a layer of complexity and makes the wine a lot better balanced. Very enjoyable, as certainly changed since I last tasted and a couple of bottles left in my cellar and no great hurry to drink them.
Starting to drink well - dominated by bilberry (the Cabernet Franc?) and oaky vanilla but lots of complex layers underneath of chocolate and plums - good length to the finish - this wine has a wonderful future to it for at least 5-10 years - slightly less than I imagined when I first tasted this wine when it was a tannic beast a few years ago - there is still plenty of tannin but much more balanced now
