  • Label: Situated on New Zealand's East Coast, bordered by towering mountains, lies the township of Marlborough. Legend has it that the mountain's westward-raked vineyards were once patrolled by a peculiar winemaker named Old Man Martin, who had a slightly leftward lean. Together, the sloped vineyards and winemaker balanced to create the perfect fit. Staying true to Martin's legend, we offer you this refined Sauvignon Blanc with aroma's of gooseberry and tropical fruits. Enjoy the balance of fine wine and enticing flavors with Martin's Rake.

Review: This 2008 has the color of young wheat, a soft yellow color with a green hue. I get aromas of stewed pears, melon and lemon-grass, subtle flint with a hint of kitty litter box. Flavors of young apricot, gooseberry, lemon and lime. Smooth Acidity.

  • This was a pleasant surprise. All the grapefruit you would expect, but toned with lime, grass and a gentle minerality you do not often find at this price point. I would go so far as to say it had a sophisticated feel to it.
