A lovely combination of power and elegance, old world and new. Lots of ripe berries commingle here with worn leather and oak that after ten years manifests itself as mouthfeel as much as flavor. A long, lovely finish drifting along on fine tannins.
The singed nose shows hints of maturity, with red and black cherries, pressed red flowers, and a touch of tomatoes. Medium bodied and dry, exhibiting dried cherries, stone fruit, and mineral flavors, and a medicinal finish of cherry cough drops and nectar.
