Opened a bottle with dinner on Saturday. Sirloin and shrimp on the grill. This wine seems to have put on some weight since the last time I had it. It still had black cherry notes and some nuttiness but also had a smokey character now. This was an excellent wine and is just beautiful at 10 years old. medium to full bodied. Integrated and smooth tannins. Long supple finish. I have 1 more bottle which I will open over the next year or so. 92 points.

There was fruit but also a bitter metallic taste I notice in a lot of Oregon Pinots that kill the fun for me. I wont rate since I think it my reaction may be ideosyncratic

Here's a Ken Wright that seems to be no worse for wear. Not reduced, not old, but a nice pinot with a bit of nice age on it. In fact, as the wine sits here open, the fruit comes into focus and the wine becomes a bit ethereal. The fruit is quite nice (orange peel, spicy red berries, light forest floor) and the nose is focused and clear, though it could be an "A" rather than a "B". The mouthfeel is round (but slightly tart) and the length is okay, but a bit clipped.
Still, I'm being harsh, as I truly like this wine, and I'm holding it to a standard to which most KW's can't compare. I like this wine.

Drank last night @ friends house w/ many other wines, including WS Olivet and P. Green Pinots. Had fresh Alaskan King salmon. Wine was still very young but had nice fruit and complexity. Everyone enjoyed it. Was not a WOW wine but went very well w/food. Wish I had more. B+
