It's been well more than a year since we had one of these and I'm happy to say they're holding up beautifully! "Found" two bottles I thought long gone in our cellar overhaul and decided we should pop one ASAP. A touch hot on pop and pour, but blew off fairly quickly in the decanter (approx. 30 min.).
Fruit has receded a bit, but it's still quite lush with blackberry overtones, followed by cocoa and nutmeg like spice. A very Christmas-y wine. Warm and rich.

Deep dark red, brick color in the glass. Long legs. First scent is Black Cherry, but with a alcoholic overtone. Not so on the palate. Blackberry and Black Cherry dominate, a hint of licorice, and faint chocolate. Excellent balance, solid fruit with great depth. Agree with the reviewers who noted the jammy profile. Velvety texture with a nice medium to long finish. An excellent Zin!

Pop and pour ... This remains one of the best Zins I've ever had. Lush, plush and silky smooth. Big blue, black fruit at the forefront with cocoa on the mid-palate and a nice, but not overpowering, tannic backbone holding the whole thing together. Classic Cali profile and very well done. Just love it.

This is a truly nice wine -- many and varied flavors, good structure and smooth, easy-drinking character.

Jammy is the word that best describes this bottle. Lots of berries on the nose and palette. Medium finish. Did I say Jammy! But not a fruit bomb.
