  • Dinner at Trelio (Clovis Ca.): 100% Merlot....LOVED this! The classic iron fist, velvet glove.....jammy wild berry fruit, dusty cherry wood spice, flowers....nice earth dryness to the sweet fruit...smooooooth....awesome!

  • 100%-Merlot themed dinner (The American Club): Beside the '00 L'Apparita, this immediately showed itself to be a big & brawny wine. Some varnish/heat on the nose, amidst notes of blackcurrants & licorice. Wow, on the palate, this was thick, highly viscous & definitely mouth-coating, but balanced with good acidity; And with notes of black-fruits & some plums, this actually made it a rather nice drink with food. Was quite sure this must've been from an esteemed maker to have such control & balance. Will definitely improve with more age!

  • Tra il granato ed il rubino. Al naso prugna, macchia mediterranea, mirtillo, mora, ginepro, pepe, note ematiche e fumé, liquirizia, spezie dolci, menta ed eucalipto. Bocca intensa e goduriosa, tannino perfetto, grande profondità e concentrazione

  • Giddyup! De-canted and drank over 1.5 hours (couldn't wait longer). Viscous pour out of bottle. Dark purple color - all the way to the rim. Pickled beets, a little iron, tobacco, dark cherry and raspberry fruit, some dark chocolate and coffee (emerging after some air) on the nose. Wine really opened up at the 45 minute mark. HUGE mouthful on the palate - lots of structure, big sweet fruit (raspberry fruit roll wrapped around wet tobacco) tannins, dark chocolate and coffee. Long finish. Fantastic now, has at least 10 years left.

  • dark red-purple black
rich aromas of black fruits, liquorice, pepper and earthiness.
full body, black fruits, coffee, cacao, liquorice, ample tannins, good acidity, pleasant harmony, rich, round, powerful, dense and concentrated on the alcoholic palate, give you a long warm finish with medium elegance.
