Very enjoyable. The wine held up well over a couple of days (with the aid of a vacuum stopper). The cork broke on opening. I double decanted the contents (into a fresh bottle). Harmonious, balanced, pleasurable. 91 (Excellent) seems the right score.

Auction purchase. Decanted off moderate sediment. Nose and palate of ripe plum, other dark fruits, some earthy leather and a bit of oak. Medium bodied, fully mature. Would have liked a bit more concentration from a 1998, but this is a nice right bank pomerol.

Dark garnet. Nose of dried herbs, like oregano; hints of seasoned salt and hints of black fruits. Taste medium weight, aged Bordeaux, touch of tannins on the end. Can age 5+ years more.

Medium garnet in color, showing age. Very intense wonderful nose, with licorice, incense, earth, plum and chocolate. Medium body, light acidity, soft tannins but with still some grip. Similar flavours to the nose, licorice, plum, chocolate. Showing ripe fruit, good intensity and balance throughout. Very good length with ripe plum, chocolate and earth aftertaste. May not have the same power and silky fruit of the top Pomerol from 1998, but still extremely enjoyable wine.
