From magnum. This is pretty much in pineapple syrup territory for me at this juncture. Viscous and potent, with nutty and dark overtones that wax the palate and become sludgy on the finish.
If you wear braces or just got a fresh new set of veneers, I would steer clear of chewing this juice. If you love advanced flavors, this will be right in your wheelhouse. For me, I feel like I would have preferred this back when the first iPhone was released.

Popped and poured. Yellow tinged with gold color. Honey and pineapple on the nose, advanced but not premoxed. Viscous palate, deep ripe and rich somewhat cloying and reminiscent of a Sauternes. Slightly bitter finish without acidity and lift. Surprisingly good accompaniment to a lobster dinner, but you do feel the heady 15% alcohol.

Ski trip - Three wino familes; 2/14/2020-2/17/2020 (Wisp Resort): Surprisingly fresh nose, concentrated yellow pit fruit, peach, pineapple, also a hint of lemon curd, sweet spices and crushed rock. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of ripe yellow fruit, rich yet showing good balance and harmony, bright acidity, strong mineral, and a long sweet yellow fruit driven finish. There is a hint of heat at the end. With air, more clear fruit expression and better balance. I dare say very Burgundian minus heat at the end. Excellent showing.

Coravin for our anniversary dinner. Darker color, full flavor, Apple, lemon, took its time developing in the glass, wonderful after an hour, drinking now.

California Cabernet 2001/2002 Blind Tasting (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Served double blind alongside the 2000 vintage. Slightly more tropical than I'd prefer but so much concentration with very elegant balance. Seemed so much fresher than a 15 yo wine, especially from such a ripe vintage clocking in at 15+% alcohol.
