Unusual btl. Tasted long in the tooth 1st night. Richer and deeper 2nd night. Hard to believe it was still "asleep" 8 years out, but who can guess with burgundies.

taste: medium bodied with medium+ acidity. Well balanced with nice depth and excellent tones of dark red cherries, dark berries, spice and earth tones
overall: an excellent gevrey. Well balanced and very open to drink right now. Exactly what you'd want from a gevrey and it can certainly develop further

nose: nice and stylish nose with good depth for a village gevrey with tones of red fruits, earth, spices and some bits of red berries. Very fragrant with a fatness to the tones as well
taste: nice and balanced medium feel with good medium acidity as well as nice supporting tannins. Rounded and fresh tones of red fruits, spice tones and bits of red berries blend well together with nice depth that one would expect from a village wine
overall: a nice village gevrey. This could probably use another year or two to fully round out and has the acidity to last a decent bit, but this is more of a food and everyday sort of village wine. This had been opened for a good while before I got to it, so the air most likely helped as well

A bit cloudy in appearance. Sappy and spicy red fruits on both the nose and palate. Very fruit forward with some nice violet notes as well. Pretty good length.
