Yea! The first few bottles I opened from this group of Sans Permis wines were gone. I let them go a few too many years. I had been a bit afraid to open the rest. So I pulled two bottles. This one and another CA Chard with the full anticipation of having to throw this out as well. What a good surprise, it was perfect. A bit on the late side, but full of fruit, depth and limited oak integrated in the wine. Loved it. Finally got to see what was expected from these.

Solid. Balanced, no heat, good acidity. At this point lots of hazelnut and a bit of cheesy funk, but it has excellent cut with lemon acidity, green apple, and pear. Nice and round, nothing fancy, but a nice riff on Sonoma fruit.

Fun chard. Full bodied and flinty, cheesy, with tame citrus fruit and great acid cut. Nicely balanced, it's hard to get a read on what this wine wants to be or where it's going but a malolactic butter bomb it is not. And for that we thank you.

Very solid Chard. Suprisingly dark for an 'o5, I was worried it might have turned for the worse but that was not the case. Great fruit, acidity and medium finish. Slight toasting. For this price? can't go wrong.

Color of concentrated urine. Quite yellow. Mandarin orange and toasty oak on the nose. Palate with kumquat lime and quite a bit of toasty oak. Nice acidity. Not a butter bomb. Medium finish. Seems young.
