  • This is actually the Trentadue Ranch (originally planted in the 1880s) ATP Geyserville, I'm assuming 100% Zin 13.9%. The bottle appeared in perfect shape except for a slightly marred label with great fill. Opened 30 minutes before dinner and decanted; there was some sediment. Dinner with friends included grilled salmon and sirloin, a sauce of morel and shittake mushrooms, wax beans and salad. The wine was a fairly light red with no bricking at all. The nose was full of sage, rosemary and oregano, really quite lovely. Medium bodied with no remaining tannins the wine was lively with a strong brown sugar element, some plum, earthiness and more Med spices. A bit of tartness that went really well with the food, expecially the mushrooms! The four of us killed this in no time, even pouring the last sedimenty bit out of the bottle after the decanter was empty.

My high hopes for this wine were more than fulfilled. A terrific bottle and a special experience.
