Boisson Vadot White Wines & A Mix of Old Red Burgundy (Paradise Valley, AZ USA): Served blind. Sexy as heaven aromas, garnet color with substantial bricking. Exquisitely delicate with tremendous presence, a classic and wonderful Burgundy. The epitome of what we want from aged Red Burgundy. Glorious, a top tier Grand Cru performance.

Excess: Absolutely amazing wine. I could have sat and smelled this for hours, if it didn't taste so spectacularly good. The aromatics are incredible - bright floral and red fruited scents with plenty of freshness to the flavours, and more savoury iron, leathery, earthy, and black truffle notes around it. There's impressive intensity and brightness on the palate, though the fruit's in the background as the more complex, developed iron, leathery, and truffled notes dominate. One of the best Burg experiences I've ever had.

Mike and Mel in town. Purchased from Envoyer. Wine was red/purple still. Nose of dark fruit and minerality. Deep and rich. Still needs 5 to 10 years. Excellent length and mouth filling. Great Pommard.

A Great French Dinner (Indianapolis, IN): A last minute decision to open and pour this wine following the Leroy. Significant bricking, the most mature color of the night (appropriately). The nose is that of an aged burgundy, with sweet darker fruit coming through. Immediately opens in the glass straight from the bottle. In the mouth it is a big wine with the Pommard rusticity being tamed by the harmony of the vintage.

Very meaty, quite sweet full and generous. A delicious wine that builds with all sorts of savoury nuance and finishes with good grip and authority. It has a sensual, lacy texture and fills every crevice of the mouth with delicious perfumed fruits. Feels like its drinking somewhere near its prime but should live for a long time yet.
